Remove your Description Tags!

Adding tags and keywords to the description of your videos is against YouTube’s community guidelines. Please refrain from adding lists of keywords to your video descriptions because this could result in multiple strikes and your channel may get shut down.

The description of your video is there for you to write a brief summary of what your video is all about, it is not for listing keywords to increase your SEO.

Please only add tags to the tags area of your video:

If you receive a strike on your video and you see the below message, it means you have violated YouTube's terms.

"This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptive content."

So what are the next steps?

  1. Go through your videos and remove any spamm tags/keywords from your descriptions
  2. Never use keywords in your descriptions unless you are writing about what your video is about
  3. If you see someone doing the same thing and getting away with it, it's not going to last long so please do not take the risk. We have seen channels receiving multiple strikes overnight and getting shut down. We do not want this to happen to you, so please do not violate this rule.
